Urban Aboriginal Community Grant Program

Focus:

Co-funding to assist with sports, culture and recreational program development and leadership opportunities for Saskatchewan’s First Nations and Métis peoples in urban areas.

… Supports program development and leadership opportunities relating to culture, sport and recreation for First Nations and Métis peoples in 14 urban municipalities in Saskatchewan.

Coordinated through Sask Sport, the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) and Saskatchewan Lotteries co-fund 14 urban municipalities with high urban Aboriginal populations in delivery of urban culture, sport and recreational program development and leadership opportunities for Saskatchewan’s First Nations and Métis peoples. Urban municipalities include: Battleford, Estevan, Fort Qu’Appelle, Kamsack, Lloydminster, Meadow Lake, Melfort, Moose Jaw, Nipawin, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Yorkton.

Community organizations may collaborate with First Nations and Métis organizations to apply to urban municipalities for culture, sport and recreation program support. Contact your applicable Urban Aboriginal Municipality. Municipalities set program priorities, help reduce barriers to participation, and are accountable to the Community Initiatives Fund board.
