Small capital projects and community pride projects and events! Projects involving construction or facility improvements, youth leadership or Aboriginal inclusion, and projects that reduce financial or other barriers to community participation.

On December 14, 2011 the CIF Board announced the release of almost $1.9 Million to Saskatchewan Community Vitality Grant Recipients:  December 2011. These funds include $1,461,429 for 64 Capital Projects and $420,222 for 24 Community Pride Projects and Events. More.

On June 15, 2011 the CIF Board announced the release of almost $2 Million to Saskatchewan Community Vitality Grant Recipients:  May 2011. These funds include $1,660,951 for 94 Capital Projects and $322,388 for 30 Community Pride Projects and Events. More

On December 7, 2010 the CIF Board announced the release of $2.2 Million to Saskatchewan Community Vitality Grant Recipients: December 2010 under the Community Vitality Program. These funds include $1,959,515 for 94 Capital Projects and $273,305 for 22 Community Pride Projects and Events. More

The Building Pride Program was incorporated into the Community Pride Projects and Events component of the Community Vitality Program in Spring 2010. This incorporation involves $389,756 for 29 grants. Here are the Community Pride Grant Recipients: May 2010 .

To apply, you should represent an incorporated Saskatchewan non-profit corporation or a community volunteer group endorsed by your partner. Partners are municipalities, schools, school divisions, health regions and other not-for-profit entities active in your community. Your project will fit the Community Vitality Program Guidelines and may include efforts that benefit First Nations and Métis people living off-reserve and those of Northern Saskatchewan.

Application deadlines: April 1st, October 1st.

Application Checklist: 

  • Do you represent a non-profit or volunteer organization, or are you endorsed by a partner who is?
  • Have you read and followed the program’s application guidelines?
  • Have you completed the application form, following instructions and answering all questions?
  • Have you provided additional information and attachments, if/as required?
  • Have you double-checked the budget to ensure it is completed fully and accurately?
  • Have you included a completed "Declaration of Endorsement Form" where applicable?
  • Does your proposed project address at least one priority area for this program?
  • Will your project be completed within 24 months?
  • Have you considered how your organization will recognize the Community Initiatives Fund during project delivery?
  • Have you signed and dated the application form?
  • Are you submitting your application before the deadline and are you sending your application to the correct address?
